Patriot announces SSDs with TRIM Support
The drives of the Zephyr series reach speeds of up to 240 MByte / s and apple macbook pro 13 15 17 battery write rates of up to 180 MByte / s. They are available with capacities of 64-256 GB. The built-JMicron controller uses 64 MB of cache.
Patriot has presented the Solid-State Drive Series Zephyr. The flash drives dominate the Windows 7 supported TRIM command, which ensures a consistently high level of readiness to perform a Solid State Drive.
Without TRIM support for SSDs can use long after the performance in part to fall considerably. The reason for this phenomenon lies in the physical characteristics of flash cells, which are used for the SSD models.
Flash memory can be described only without wait states, if those cells are empty. Since the operating system files but only delete the contents of the file system and the controller of the SSD of this deletion will notice anything, it must delete the access back to the cell that first before he can describe it. With the TRIM feature shares the operating system with the SSD controller, the data blocks are no longer used, so that it can delete the unused cells of rest, in order to later describe without loss of performance again.
The 2.5-inch drives to work with multi-level cell NAND flash, the JMicron controller and 64 MByte JMF612 DDR2 cache lenovo 3000 g550 battery. They permit according to the manufacturer sequential read speeds of up to 240 MByte / s and write rates of up to 180 MByte / s.
The novelties are available with capacities of 64, 128 and 256 GByte. Patriot delivers the Zephyr drives with a three-year warranty. Information on prices and availability has not yet made by the manufacturer.
