Kingston has introduced the most first solid state disk, which costs less than 100 €. The new 40GB model SSDNow V is now available for 97 €.

The storage lenovo thinkpad t60p battery capacity of flash storage device is 40 GB. That is just enough for an operating system (the 64-bit version of Windows 7 reports after installation 5 GB of free memory) and a few programs. The manufacturer calls the panel therefore "Accelerator Drive" – they should make a few selected software modules faster, but can not serve as a single storage system.

The controller of the SSD is from Intel. The Kingston 40GB SSDNow V has a maximum write performance (sequential) of 43 MByte / s. Reads are 180 Mbyte / s.

ZDNet has tested the Kingston SSDNow V 40GB already. The test clears, among other things, why the Intel controller samsung slb-0937 battery, not so high as in Intel’s own performance delivers SSDs.
